Silken Tofu with Crispy Anchovies

5 minutes is all you need to try this cold silken tofu dish! Its savoury, full of umami from the fried small anchovies, and has great customizability from the dressing sauce~

Ingredients:

  • Small dried anchovies
  • 1 block of silken tofu
  • A splash of cooking oil
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp chilli oil (optional)
  • Chopped green onions (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Over low heat, add a spoonful of oil and the thawed small dried anchovies to the pan. Sauté them slowly until they become crispy and fragrant, then remove from the pan.
  2. Make your dressing by combining soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and optionally chilli oil in a small bowl and mix. 
  3. Cut the tofu into small pieces and place them on a serving plate, then pour over your dressing. 
  4. Top with the crispy anchovies and garnish with chopped green onions for color and aroma.
